Tenakill Read-A-Thon: March 11-22
Read-A-Thon gets your TMS student excited about reading, while giving friends and family the
opportunity to encourage your child to read even more and raise money for our school- 80% of
money raised goes directly to the Closter PTO to support Closter Public Schools! Find out how
the Closter PTO has contributed to our schools on our website.
Get ready for the Tenakill Read-A-Thon in 3 simple steps:
1. Set up your child's account HERE. Enter your child's LANGUAGE ARTS teacher and
select the PERIODS of their Language Arts class, e.g. Lagomarsino (1-2).
Follow prompts for “I do not see my name” and create an account with the student's full name and parent's email (do not use nvnet.org e-mail).
2. Use the easy online tools to tell friends and family about Read-A-Thon so they can
support your child by making a donation.
3. Track and log at-home reading sessions starting on Monday, March 11th through Friday,
March 22nd. Students can also log any independent reading sessions completed during
LA periods.
Get your child excited about reading while raising money for our school:
ALL students who register and read will be entered into a drawing for 4 Landmark Theatres
movie passes and 2 Shake Shack gift cards!
PRIZES to be awarded:
Top School-Wide Fundraising Student: $100 Amazon Gift
Top 3 Fundraising Students in each grade will win a gift card to a Closter Plaza business
of student’s choice:
o 1st place - $30 gift card
o 2nd place - $20 gift card
o 3rd place - $15 gift card
Top School- Wide Readers:
o 1st place - Good Game Lounge 3 hour play pass, $15 Shake Shack gift card,
Books & Greetings merchandise
o 2nd place - Good Game Lounge 3 hour play pass, $15 Shake Shack gift card
o 3rd place - $15 Shake Shack gift card, Books & Greetings merchandise
**Note: student must read at least 250 minutes to qualify for above prizes**
Every student who reads at least 180 minutes AND raises $15 in donations will have a choice to enter a drawing for a gift card to either Wally’s Bagel Nosh ($20), El Taco Bar ($20), Cocohodo ($20) or Dave and Buster’s ($25)
The class with the top average minutes read per student will win a Pizza and Donut
Party! So tell classmates to join the Read-a-thon and READ!
